Level 1 Chargers
These come standard with EVs. They plug into a regular 120-volt outlet. They’re slow, and to fully charge it, it can take a day. This is fine for driving short distances or if you have a plug-in hybrid. But if you’re driving long distances, it’s not really sustainable.
Level 2 Chargers
This is what most Columbus homeowners install. They use 240 volts and charge much faster. Most EVs charge in 4 to 8 hours with a Level 2 charger. But Level 2 chargers need a professional install, a dedicated circuit, and a permit.
Level 3 Chargers (DC Fast Chargers)

Most Columbus homeowners pay between $800 and $2,500 for a complete Level 2 charger installation. That includes the charger itself (usually $300 to $800), labor ($400 to $1,500), permits ($50 to $200), and any new circuit work. If your home needs a panel upgrade from 100 amps to 200 amps, that can add $1,500 to $4,000. We’ll give you exact pricing after we assess your home.
Absolutely. We install Tesla chargers, Level 2 chargers, universal chargers, and NEMA 14-50 outlets.
Usually around 2 to 4 hours. It depends on your electrical panel, though. If everything’s in order, we’ll be in and out quickly; if you need a panel upgrade, it might take a day or two. Also, if there’s a wiring issue or we need to run wiring through a new part of the house, that may be another few hours.
Yes! Almost all Level 2 chargers work with all electric vehicles sold in North America. They use a connector that fits every EV except older Teslas. These need an adapter, which is usually included with the car. Newer Teslas (from 2024 onward) already have the connector built in. When we install your charger, we’ll make sure it’s compatible with your EV or any future vehicles you’re thinking of buying.
